What You’ll Eat During Your Climb with Climb2Kili Adventures

Eating well on Mount Kilimanjaro is essential for maintaining energy, strength, and morale during your trek. At Climb2Kili Adventures, we make sure you’re well-fed with fresh, nutritious, and delicious meals prepared daily by our experienced mountain chefs even at high altitude.

Our meals are designed to fuel your body for long days of hiking, help with altitude adjustment, and keep your spirits high with a taste of local and international dishes.

Typical Daily Meal Plan

Breakfast

  • Porridge (oats, millet, or maize)
  • Eggs (boiled, scrambled, or omelets)
  • Toast with jam, peanut butter, or honey
  • Pancakes or chapati
  • Fresh fruit (banana, watermelon, orange)
  • Tea, coffee, hot chocolate

Lunch (Hot or Packed, depending on the day)

  • Rice or pasta with vegetables
  • Chicken, beef, or lentil stew
  • Vegetable curry or sautéed greens
  • Avocado or salad (when available)
  • Juice or warm drinks

Dinner (Served Hot at Camp)

Soup starter (vegetable, pumpkin, lentil, etc.)

Main course:

  • Spaghetti, rice, or potatoes
  • Chicken, beef, or vegetarian protein
  • Mixed vegetables
  • Fresh fruit or a light dessert
  • Herbal tea, ginger tea, or hot cocoa

Snacks (During the Day)

  • Biscuits or cookies
  • Popcorn at camp
  • Nuts or trail mix
  • Energy bars (you can also bring your favorites)

Drinks & Hydration

  • We provide safe, purified drinking water every day
  • Warm drinks (tea, coffee, cocoa) are served at every meal
  • You are encouraged to drink 3–4 liters daily to stay hydrated and help with acclimatization

All meals are prepared fresh each day by your dedicated mountain chef, using ingredients carried and supplied by our porter team. We follow safe food handling practices and ensure high hygiene standards throughout the trek.
