Old Moshi-Kilimanjaro
Kikuletwa Hot Springs (locally called Chemka) is a beautiful geothermal natural spring located about 1.5 hours from Moshi, near the village of Rundugai. Despite being called a “hot spring,” the water is actually refreshingly warm, crystal-clear, and perfect for swimming.
Surrounded by lush fig and palm trees, the spring feels like a hidden jungle oasis in the middle of a dry savannah. The spot is popular for its turquoise waters, rope swings, and peaceful atmosphere ideal for swimming, relaxing, and escaping the heat.
You can spot tiny fish in the water that give a natural foot spa by nibbling at your toes! Locals often sell snacks, drinks, and offer small picnic setups around the area.
