Detailed Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha/Moshi – Tarangire National Park

Your safari begins with morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. After a short safari briefing, you will drive approximately 4–5 hours to Tarangire National Park.

Tarangire is well known for:

  • Large elephant herds

  • Giant ancient baobab trees

  • Beautiful savannah scenery

  • Excellent predator sightings

The Tarangire River attracts animals year-round, especially during the dry season.

During your 4–5 hour game drive, you may see:

  • Elephants

  • Lions

  • Giraffes

  • Zebras

  • Wildebeest

  • Cheetahs

  • Various antelope species

You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park surrounded by nature.

In the late afternoon, you will drive to your lodge or safari camp near Ngorongoro for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater – Return to Arusha/Moshi

After an early breakfast, you will depart for the Ngorongoro Crater.

The Ngorongoro Crater is:

  • 610 meters deep

  • 260 square kilometers wide

  • Home to over 25,000 animals

It is one of the best places in Africa to see the Big Five in a short time.

During your crater game drive (4–5 hours), you may spot:

  • Lions

  • Elephants

  • Buffalo

  • Black rhinos

  • Leopards (rare but possible)

  • Hippos

  • Hyenas

  • Flamingos (seasonal)

The crater’s open grasslands make wildlife viewing easier compared to other parks.

After a picnic lunch near the hippo pool, you will ascend the crater walls and return to Arusha or Moshi. Airport drop-off is available for evening flights.

Meals Included:
Breakfast & Lunch

Driving Time:
Approximately 2 hours to crater

Can You See the Big Five in 2 Days?

Yes — especially inside the Ngorongoro Crater.

While wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, this itinerary offers one of the highest chances in Tanzania to see:

  • Lion

  • Elephant

  • Buffalo

  • Black Rhino

Leopards are possible but less commonly seen.

Is 2 Days Enough for a Safari?

Yes. This short safari is designed specifically for travelers with limited time. Because Tarangire and Ngorongoro are close to Arusha, you spend more time on game drives and less time driving long distances.

If you have more time, we also offer 3-day, 4-day, and 5-day safari packages.
