Arrival in Moshi

Gear check, briefing, and hotel preparation before the climb.

Day 1 – Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

Your adventure begins with registration at Londorossi Gate before driving to the trailhead. The first trek passes through dense rainforest filled with giant trees, colorful birds, and occasional monkey sightings. Overnight at Mti Mkubwa Camp.

Day 2 – Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp

The trail climbs steadily into the moorland zone with panoramic views opening behind you. You cross volcanic ridges and enter the vast Shira Plateau before arriving at Shira 1 Camp.

Day 3 – Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp

A gentler acclimatization day crossing the scenic Shira Plateau. The route offers breathtaking views toward Kibo Peak, Mount Meru, and Shira Cathedral.

Day 4 – Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp

Today follows the classic climb-high, sleep-low strategy. You ascend toward Lava Tower before descending into the beautiful Barranco Valley beneath the towering Barranco Wall.

Day 5 – Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Day 6 – Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Summit night begins around midnight. Climbers ascend slowly toward Stella Point before continuing along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After photos and celebration, the descent continues to Mweka Camp for overnight rest.

Day 8 – Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

The final descent passes through lush rainforest before reaching Mweka Gate where successful climbers receive their Kilimanjaro summit certificates.
